If you’re a fan of classic hummus but are ready to explore new flavors and textures, get ready to fall in love with my Black Bean Hummus. This captivating twist on the traditional chickpea-based dip brings together the rich creaminess of black beans with a harmonious blend of zesty lime, earthy coriander, and the subtle nuttiness of tahini. For this recipe you are going to need the following ingredients (gathering your ingredients will be the hardest part of making this hummus by the way…it’s really THAT easy): garlic cloves, a can of black beans, extra virgin olive oil, lime juice, tahini, ground coriander, Himalayan pink salt, and additional extra virgin olive oil for drizzling over your finished dip (if you so desire it).

To get started, add your garlic cloves into a food processor and process it until it’s minced finely. I use my Kitchen Aid 3.5 Cup Mini Food Processor, because this dip fits perfectly in it, but you can use whatever size you prefer.

Then, remove the lid to your food processor and add in your black beans, extra virgin olive oil, lime juice, tahini, coriander and salt. Process your ingredients until a smooth paste forms. Scrape down the sides if necessary (if using a larger food processor) and process again. Serve drizzled with additional oil if desired.

Prepare to be swept away by the robust flavors of this Black Bean Hummus. This recipe embodies the art of blending simple yet vibrant ingredients to create a dip that’s as versatile as it is satisfying. Whether paired with my homemade Crispy Plantain Chips, pita chips, or some fresh vegetable sticks, this hummus promises to elevate your snacking experience to a whole other level. It’s bound to become a favorite in your repertoire!
