If you saw the title of this post and thought to yourself, “Why would I waste all of my time making ranch dressing when I can just buy it at the store?”…I get it, and by all means, if you have NO time to spare to make homemade dressing for your salads, then definitely don’t even try making this JUST once. I say this, because after you taste my Ranch Dressing, you may just become a ranch-dressing-snob like my family and I. I will tell you…we did NOT set out to be this way…it just sort of happened, but you might understand what I mean after tasting this on your next salad!

The good news is that you can whip this up in just a few minutes and have it waiting for you when the craving strikes, and depending on how much ranch dressing you go through on a regular basis, this could last you quite a bit of time, as it yields about 4 cups of dressing.

If you end up loving this recipe, I would suggest you keep the ingredients on hand in your pantry and refrigerator like I do, because it makes it so much easier not having to run to the grocery store every time you want to make it. You’re going to need mayonnaise, buttermilk, a Hidden Valley Ranch packet, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Please don’t be scared away by the cayenne powder, and definitely do not omit it from the recipe, as it adds the most pleasant bite of flavor that lingers on your lips.

As I stated above, this is super easy to whip up…simply grab a medium bowl, add in all of the ingredients and whisk them together until they are completely combined. Transfer to 2 glass bottles or an airtight container to store. You can use this right away, but I would recommend chilling it for at least 1/2 hour to maximize the flavor.
